Visa requirements for South Africans

Visa required: Tourist eVisa or consular visa, depending on eligibility and purpose. The Foreign Ministry lists a one-month tourist eVisa route; follow the actual issued permit’s stay and entry count

Ordinary South African passport holders need a visa. Start at the official evisa.gov.tr portal, select South Africa and check the eligibility conditions for your dates and passport. Complete the application, pay any applicable official fee and retain the issued permit. The Foreign Ministry describes a one-month single-entry eVisa and a separate consular multiple-entry option; the portal and issued permit must be checked rather than assuming multiple entry. Use the Turkish representation for another purpose or if the online route is unsuitable.

Fee: Confirm the fee shown on the official eVisa application for your passport and travel dates; unauthorised agencies may add charges.

Passport / identification: The Foreign Ministry advises at least six months from arrival. The legal minimum also depends on the permitted stay plus 60 days.

Carry the visa, onward travel and accommodation details. Check entry count before an itinerary that leaves and re-enters Türkiye.
